Recognizing the potential and resilience in every young life, Mrs. Blevins has had no difficulty with her internal compass. She is always centered in guiding the way for a young person to reach their greatest potential.
Mrs. Blevins has been matching children with their inner motivations since starting her career, as a young house mother in a college dorm to coaching inner city students in jump roping competition, being a foster parent to 38 boys and girls, serving as the clinical director for a residential treatment center for emotionally disturbed children, as the executive director of Cassata Learning Center, an alternative high school, and as executive director of the Texas Boys Choir. Mrs. Blevins received her training first and foremost by the children and families that have touched her in the past 25 years as a mother, therapist, educator, and administrator.
Mrs. Blevins was trained professionally as an educator at Missouri Southern University with a B.S. in education and as a therapist and a developmental specialist with a Master degree in Human Development from the University of Kansas. She received her certification as a school administrator at the University of North Texas.
While Mrs. Blevins has worked with the poorest of refugee children as a teacher, the most severely emotionally disturbed children as a therapist, the learning challenged as the director of an alternative school and with the most talented and gifted children in all positions, her belief has been and always will be founded in the respect and dignity of every child and their family. The hallmarks of these relationships have been integrity, compassion and the highest expectation for every child. |
