Darla Jones holds a B. A. in Broadcast Communication, with a Theatre minor from UTA. She has performed in, written, and/or directed productions for the Gladney Center, Fort Worth Transit Authority (The T), Fort Worth Theatre, Kids Who Care, Jr. Woman’s Club, First Presbyterian Church and more. She has worked for the past 26 years in all facets of theatrical production from painting sets to acting to directing, costumes, and all points in between. She is a professional makeup artist, and has extensive marketing, public relations, special events planning, and sales experience.

Since coming to FWAFA in April of 2003, Mrs. Jones has directed Guys & Dolls, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, The Curious Savage, Singin’ in the Rain, The Diviners, Kiss Me, Kate, The Rise & Rise of Daniel Rocket, and The Runner Stumbles.

Mrs. Jones is the 2006 recipient of The Bayard H. Friedman Hummer Hero Award for Score A Goal in the Classroom’s Outstanding Theatre Teacher.

Mrs. Jones was most recently seen onstage as the Nurse in Romeo & Juliet. Some of her favorite roles include “Eleanor” in Silent Heroes, “Glinda, the Witch of the North” in The Wizard of Oz, and “Truvy” in Steel Magnolias. Mrs. Jones is married to John Jones and has two children, Blake & Aubrey.
