Before his time at the Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts (fwAFA), he was the Principal for the Pinnacle School of Fine Arts and also produced its artistic performances. At fwAFA, he has served as Summer Camp Programs Director for three years. Mr. Madrid also produced and directed this past summer’s production of Hamlet. Currently, he is Director of Marketing & Public Relations for the Texas Boys Choir and the Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts.

Stephen Madrid began his professional career at the age of eighteen as a reporter then anchor for a CBS affiliate in Midland, Texas. Shortly after, under the auspices of Hardin-Simmons University, he served as Managing Artistic Director for A Moment’s Notice, a local touring acting troupe. Around the same time, with the support of Abilene Repertory Theatre, Mr. Madrid was the founding Managing Artistic Director for a youth repertory troupe, Wild Things. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre from Hardin-Simmons University and has directed or produced over 50 theatrical performances.

His continual involvement with nonprofit performing arts organizations expanded while working with Texas Nonprofit Theatres (TNT), servicing over 200 organizations throughout the state. Mr. Madrid has operated within the non-profit community for over 10 years. Today, he sits on the Board of Directors for Texas Nonprofit Theatres, Inc. and takes great pride in serving as co-chair and instructor for the TNT Youth Conference which brings together youth theatre companies from across the state for performances and workshops. He is also serving as a grant panelist for the Arts Council of Fort Worth and Tarrant County.

While teaching acting and theatre throughout the state privately and for local studios, he has been active in the educational arts for over 11 years. Mr. Madrid is also a professional actor in the theatrical industry appearing in many national and regional radio and television commercials. He has also appeared in numerous stage performances, television programs, and independent films. Stephen Madrid is a working actor continuing for over 15 years and is currently represented by the Horne Agency, Dallas.
