There was a town in need of a healer and a
man in need of a purpose; both were named Gray.
Set in the 1880's,
Anatomy of Gray is a fable for all ages- a powerful reminder that sometimes in
order to find yourself, you must first lose your way.

As we finish out the month of May and June it is very important
that all accounts with a balance owed are paid in full as soon as possible, and
paid in advance for the rest of the year. Realize that an outstanding lunch
balance is the same as a lost book fee and no records can be received or report
cards sent until they are paid.
For the remainder of this year we will still be
on the e-mail system for lunch account balance notification...
Christina Ward won first place in Ready Writing. Her expository essay, written in two hours, referenced Plato, Aristotle, Dante, Knowles, and Einstein! One of the university graders stayed to meet her, saying that he had read her second place essay last year and wanted to affix a face to the name...he was so impressed with the depth and maturity of her writing.
Our 2008 academic contestants are:
Christina Ward: Ready Writing
John Maksimik: Social Studies
Julie Wagner: Editorial Writing
There are approximately 60 contestants from all over the state and from all sizes of schools in each of the academic contests. The selection process that leads to state goes back through district and regional contests. Those 60 contestants are the best from an original pool of between 8,000 and 10,000 UIL participants.
fwAFA Artists Win Big The Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts was represented by 77 artists at Mayfest this weekend. Elementary and High School artists displayed their works and were entered in the Mayfest art contest.
15
schools were represented. Out of the 13 awards that were given out, our
fwAFA students received 6 totaling $625 in prizes awarded.
Also, the logo that fwAFA's visual art teacher, Miss Edie Wells,
designed was very well-received and the Mayfest staff said that it is
the first year that they have ever sold out of all festival merchandise.
Hope you got yours...I missed out but I know the artist.
